What is the most direct route from Nolita?
Prince Street is your friend. Take it west from Mott or Elizabeth Street through SoHo; at Sixth Avenue it continues as Charlton Street. Turn north on Greenwich Street, go west on Christopher Street, and you are at the river. The walk passes the old St. Patrick's Basilica grounds at the start and the cast-iron SoHo blocks in the middle.
From the Little Italy blocks on Mulberry Street near Grand, walk up to Prince first; it saves zigzagging.
Is there a quicker option on transit?
Not much quicker. From Spring Street on the 6, or Prince Street on the R and W, you would still need to transfer and walk. Most Nolita customers either walk or take a short cab straight across Houston Street to West Street.
How should you plan the trip?
Check the West Village menu before you leave so you know what is in stock, then order for pickup. The store opens at 9am daily and closes at 10pm Sunday through Thursday, 11pm Friday and Saturday. Bring a government photo ID showing you are 21 or older.
